Life Updates - Girl Gaze Ambassador + Drunk Magazine Photographer

#1

Yasssss, I am now an ambassador for Girl Gaze! Very excited to be working alongside some amazing women photographers. As you may know the photography industry is still white male dominated, well almost every industry (that is a discussion for another day). Butttttttttttttttttt, we are loud and proud and our work is untouched. If you don't have any women, BLACK women at that on your photographer roster you are losing, big time.

GIRL TALK: At Home Hair Color Experiences #ColorConfidently

A part of my 2017 "to do" list is to be more in front of the camera. Yes, I am a photographer but I do HATE having my photo taken. I am pretty camera shy and prefer to be behind the lens. But, this fear needs to go away if I ever want to fully brand myself as an influencer LOL. One day I'll have one of my photographer friends take my photos (emphasis on one day).

Had the pleasure of working with Youtube star Taren Guy  and Clairol on a series about at home hair color experiences. Now that I have chopped all my hair off, I feel that I have more freedom to color my hair in any type of way. The ease of being bald and shaving it all off again if I don't like the color lol.

In the video I discuss how I feel about coloring my own hair and the drama I went through when I got my hair dyed from a professional. You even get a sneak peek of my current color and dye process . Check it out below!

Also, let me know what hair color I should do next...

#ShotbyDee 2016 Best Photos

2016 was an amazing year for me photography wise. It was the year I decided to take my photography serious. Serious, as in professionally. In the past I was just the annoying girl who always had her camera with her 24/7. I took photos of any and everything.

The photoshoot I did with Nia of Creative Smart Girl was the catalyst of my change of heart. Seeing my photos on her website as she launched her brand was one of the coolest moments ever of 2016 (ya I cried a little).

I also want to shoutout Ms. Rellie Relz! I had been following her on Tumblr for quite a while, connected with her on twitter because I was pressed to shoot her. After that shoot, more than half of the people I linked up with were word-of-mouth connections through her. SHE KNOWS EVERYONE lol. So I would like to thank her for connecting me with so many cool people who have now turned into amazing friends.

I really don't like to talk about my work in too much detail. Just know that I am going to kill 2017. More colors, more women, more features, magazine spreads, ALL UH DAT.

But first, check out my photos that I shot in 2016.

Peace!
