My purpose in leaving the house during NYFW is to take photos of all the beautiful women of color I see at events or in the streets. Today was a bit slow, but the next few days will be crazy.
Back to Milk Makeup. My lovely friend Jourdan got her make up done using a few of their newer products. The end result of the photo below was A1. Jourdan's makeup looked poppin, beat, yasssss, shook, slay, all the above. As you know we (black women) tend to be a bit picky on who we let do our makeup. But this lady killed it, and deserves a raise.
I didn't get my makeup done, because like most brands, foundation shades in my color don't exist - YET! It isn't shocking but will always be disappointing to see such a large range of skin tones left out of the bunch. Do better, that's all I'm going to say. Was going to rant but I'm in a good mood. :)
I overheard one of the two beautiful black makeup artists telling a customer that Milk Makeup's products are to be applied using your hand. Thought that was very interesting, so me not wanting to buy brushes isn't being cheap lol.
BYOB is the first thing I saw when I walked in the event. Ohhhhh? Not that kind though. This BYOB was for product samples to fill up your Birchbox.
Overall it was a great event. Congrats to the Birchbox + Milk Makeup team. Looking forward to using the makeup one day.
