Do you prefer film or digital photography?
I prefer film
What is your favorite type of camera to use?
A contax t3
When did you pick up photography?
When I about 18-19
When did you realize that your art could turn into a lucrative business?
Lol, I still don’t know if it's going to be “lucrative” I just love taking photos.
What has been your favorite project you have worked on?
Very tough question, my favorite project honestly has to be when I shot (took pictures) a dead body for an art show I was in. It's my favorite because of just how abstract the idea was and really how fun it was prepping for the shoot, it rained that day out of nowhere like a movie, no lie I think I’m still cursed from that day smh.
Let's Get a Little Bit Deeper:
How does your photography stand out from the rest of the crowd with a camera? How do you describe your photography to someone who has never seen it before?
I believe I am able to stand out because I’m really not trying to over do anything, and when I say that, it means every photo you see from me, is from an idea, memory or whatever from my mind. It's intimate and distant at the same time. Some photos can remind you of when you were a kid and first learned how to ride a bike. Others can take you back when you first got your heart broken, I love it. If you can feel at least a little something, I did my job I think.
How do you show "freedom and beauty" in your photography? [This question was based off this quote from your website; "My goal or you can say purpose with photography to me at least is showing the freedom and beauty that lives in this world.”]
It's funny because I sit back and look at my work and I think to myself “wow, this shit is all over the place” and I feel bad about it kind., But I remember that it's really just too much crazy interesting “stuff” in this world to just focus on one thing. I told myself I might as well show everything whether people like it or not, even myself.
Are you heavy on editing photos or do you like to keep them as is?
What you see what you get. So yeah no I don’t.
In your video interview with Ohio Streets TV, you said "film is authentic it is the most authentic you can get", can you speak on that statement a little more.
I really was just speaking to the process that you have to do to get your photos back. Like if you don’t love photography or don’t have an ounce of dedication you shouldn’t shoot film like honestly. I’m like a little kid in a candy shop when I get my photos back. With that being said I say the “authentic” statement comes from all the feelings that come with the shooting film life. It's real if you know what I mean.
"Stay inspired by life, get off the internet, don't let the internet use you, be original and find yourself (Ohio Streets TV Interview). Any other advice you would like to give future or inspiring photographers?
Um, the most advice I can give is shoot as much as you can.
What are your thoughts of brands offering "exposure" as a means of payment?
LOL, no lie sometimes it can be beneficial to you but just please do your research on the brand because they will try to finesse if they can. But all you gotta do is hit them with “What's the budget?” line and you should be good.
What prompted your move to NYC? Why didn't you move to other popular cities like LA, Miami, Atlanta or London
Being from the midwest we kinda have a wild view of the rest of the world. As a kid I moved around a lot, so I understood at a young age that everywhere is truly different. For me, NYC has always been a dream, I mean just spend 24hrs in this city and you feel like you can take over the world. Trust me if I was able to move to London I would be out of here bruv.
Let’s Get Nasty:
Describe the perfect woman?
Funny, dangerous, smart, adventurous, strong, artsy (Is a plus), A rockstar like myself because rockstars can only be with rockstars. Oh, yea she has to be pretty down to earth like we can enjoy the little things in the world but trust me I like nice shit too but yea you know. We can run the world together side by side. Fuck all that gender role stuff.
Ass or boob man? (Or any other feature)
I'm a face person for sure everything else is just a plus by God himself lol. Trust me, if you see a beautiful girl time will stop even if it's just for a split second.
Name 3 ladies: The one you take home to mom, the freaky one, the untouchable (the girl whose so beautiful, powerful, amazing, you just want to be in her presence)
I'm sorry I would name some famous women but there's really only one girl I can think about and she is all above, yea I know. So yea I just want her but it's complicated of course.
Sex on the first date?
Come on people lol.
Opinion on $200 dates?
I can take your picture and show you that the universe really lives inside you girl, and you will have the time of your life for like $40. Any dude dropping $200 on a date and it's not in his budget is reaching lol, or trying a little too hard. Also, New York is expensive as hell, so if you are paying for 2 people a whole day, lol that's gonna be well over $200.
Do you get down in the DM's?
I do not at all. I mean people are now already starting to begin this stigma with photographers that they are creeps. With me, because I keep my face off the net by choice, so its' almost a bad idea if I pull up in the DMs. I look like a catfish.
